Carolina's Clinical Connection 2017

In March of 2017, I had the opportunity to attend the Carolina’s Clinical Connection conference for professionals and future professionals in the field of clinical laboratory science. The conference hosted companies, hospitals and universities from both North and South Carolina. My time there I spent time in different sessions learning about the many factors in the medical field that impacted clinical laboratory and the importance of the lab.

There was also a vendor fair that included different companies that supply instruments for the lab such as chemistry analyzers, handheld devices for point-of-care testing, immunoassay testing, automated cell counters and even a mechanical separator plasma blood collection tube. I really enjoyed the conference because I was able to gain important information about clinical laboratory science and the advances of technology that are to come. I was able to speak with future employers and what they look for in an employee and recruiting agencies if I had an interest in being a traveling medical laboratory technician. I was glad that I was able to attend this conference.
